AVALIAÇÃO DAS IMAGENS DO TM LANDSAT PARA ORIENTAR A IMPLANTAÇÃO DE PROJETOS DE COLONIZAÇÃO NO ESTADO DO ACRE.

Resumo

The purpose of this paper consists of the potential appraisal of the TM LANDSAT images in order to obtain information concerning the drainage network and the land cover in the Upper Purus Micro-RegioD, in 5tate of Acre, aD area presenting aD settlement processo The area under study comprises the watersheds of the Iqum and Abunã, tributaries of respectively the Purus and Madeira rivers, showing low order of magnitude rivers (lst, 2nd, and 3rd order) and a thick forest cover. CCT's of the bands Tm 2, 3, 3 and 5 were used for the digital processing. The enhancement of the band 5 was perfomade for identification of the drainage network. By means of an increase of the algorithm for the supervised classification of the MAXVER and by using the above mentioned four bands, following thematic classes: land use, terrace and food plain cleared forest, hill cleared forest and thick forest. Finnaly, the TM LANDSAT images applicability was discussed aiming at geting rel evant information to locate lhe settlement projects in this region.
