The Problems of Definition and Demarcation of Rural and Urban Spaces - changes in rural space and institutional practices: the example of Santa Catarina island
Abstract
This paper intends to call attention about the changes at the rural area departing from legal aspects, in order to identify the question of the delimitation of the areas and establish the institutional practices about the “new” rural. As the Federal Constitutions didn’t define what is rural and urban, the ordinary laws like “Estatuto da Terra” and others after these, sometimes adopt the destination principle and in other situations, the location principle. According to increasing urbanization of the rural area, the social rights are violated. Key-words: legal aspects, rural area, social and spatial organizationDownloads
