A Social political- Approach for the Teaching of Functions in the
Abstract
This paper composes part of a larger study by Alonso (2004) whose main purpose was the development of an alternative to the study of functions in high school. We approached this subject making clear the relationship among variable quantities, working with cooperative groups using Amplified Problem Solving involving socio-political themes, aiming to develop individual commitment to cultural, political and social issues in Brazilian society. Theoretical bases for the study included Critical – Historical Pedagogy as well as Vygotsky`s theory of development and learning. Key Words: Co-operative Groups. Social Justice.
