Abstract
Piaget assumes that reflexive (réfléchissante) abstraction is the process by which mathematical knowledge is produced. The aim of this article is to confirm to identify the presence of the reflexive abstraction or its components (réfléchissement and reflection) in mathematicians description of the way they produce mathematical new knowledge as well as to discuss possible pedagogical implications of this process in Mathematics classrooms.
