Abstract

Learning strategies are techniques, methods, procedures, or sequences of actions chosen by the student, consciously to accomplish a given task and to achieve learning objectives. The study of strategies is fundamental to education because they work as a tool for the learner. This study aims to describe the construction of a Learning Strategies Scale for Young and Adult Students (EEA-JA), to present preliminary data on their psychometric properties and construct validity. Participated 800 students from a private university in the south of Minas Gerais, enrolled in nine courses. The majority of the female participants (N = 453) and the average age of 22 years The exploratory factorial analysis of the 40 items of the scale showed two factors consistent with the description of the cognitive and metacognitive learning strategies described by the Cognitive and Human Information Processing theories, with internal consistency measured by Cronbach's alpha (0.85). These initial results reveal promising psychometric properties of the scale for use in the educational context. Keywords: Learning Strategies. Scale. Validation.

Mestrando em Educação.Possui graduação em Psicologia. Realizou especialização em psicopedagogia clínica e institucional. Cursou MBA em gestão estratégica do capital humano no Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas Gerais. Atua atualmente como tutor no Centro Universitário do Sul de Minas Gerais nos cursos de Educação a distância, e Professor nos cursos de Pedagogia, Matemática, Física, Letras e Música na disciplina de Psicologia da educação, no curso de Pedagogia também é professor das disciplinas de Desenvolvimento Psicomotor e Aprendizagem e Fundamentos da Psicologia na mesma instituição é professor no curso técnico (Pronatec) de segurança do trabalho na disciplina de Psicologia Aplicada e também professor da disciplina de Bioética, Ética e Responsabilidade Social para os cursos de Biomedicina, Enfermagem, Nutrição, Fisioterapia e Educação Física.

Susana Gakyia Caliatto, Universidade do Vale do Sapucaí

Possui graduação em Psicologia pela Universidade São Francisco - Itatiba (2001), mestrado em Educação pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2006) e doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2011). Atualmente é professora do Curso de Mestrado e Pedagogia da Universidade do Vale do Sapucaí Pouso Alegre MG.Membro dos seguintes grupos de pesquisa: Estudos em contextos relacionados à aprendizagem, Grupo de pesquisa educação e gestão: questões contemporâneas de ensino, avaliação, docência e gestão e Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Psicopedagogia da Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Tem experiência na área de Educação, com ênfase em Psicologia educacional e da aprendizagem, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: aprendizagem escolar, estratégias de aprendizagem, educação inclusiva, formação de professores.
