This work presents a morphological analysis of an area of the Sierra de Gredos in the Central Iberian System. For the analysis, a photointerpretation with a stereoscope was carried out, for which satellite images and aerial photographs were used. Also, 3D images and contour level shapes of the study area have been used. All this has been combined in a Geographic Information System (GIS) and validated later during field works. The obtained results from the analysis has allowed to deduce the extent of the glaciers during the LGM, based mainly on the blocks and the morainic cords that presumably define the extent reached by the ice during that period. In some areas the LGM has been delimited with the aid of trimlines and other morphological characteristics of the valleys. This analysis of the glacial extent during the LGM is a starting point on which to base future research on paleoglaciology in the study area.
