The study offered an analysis of locational environmental suitability for the installation of waterway terminals in Mirim Lagoon through multicriteria analysis. Using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method through the Terrset software, it was possible to generate three scenarios on the banks of Mirim Lagoon, with areas protected by law being discarded: Conservationist - proposed a vision of environmental conservation; Developmentalist - aiming at regional development and the flexibility of natural aspects; and Management. Each variable used was reclassified, according to the relevance in the scenarios, and assigned different weights, resulting in maps with five classes of aptitude. The Conservationist scenario presented about half of the areas with a high degree of environmental suitability and the other half with a medium and low degree. The Developmentalist scenario presented about 90% of the areas classified as having a high degree of environmental aptitude for the installation of waterway terminals. The management scenario, which represents the intermediate view between the conservationist and developmentalist, presented more than half of the classified areas with a high degree of aptitude.
