Abstract

The mangrove is an important coastal ecosystem. It works like a barrier of erosive impacts aggravated to waves and tides. But it still reveals fragilities, and it can be aggravated for human action. This paper presents time-spatial analysis evolution of Environmental Protection Area and Urban Recovery (APARU) of Jequiá through of vegetable use and coverage analyses of 2010 and 2018 years. It was used spatial database with georeferenced cartography bases of vegetable use and coverage of mentioned years, in scale 1:10.000, that it was provided at Pereira Passos Institute/RJ. The vector datas was processed for geoprocessing on ArcGIS software 10.4 and it was realized the area calculation for each generated class. The information was plotted in Excel to generate comparative table. It was noted significant changes in four classes: dense rainforest (+3.96%) to the detriment of non-forest arboreal vegetation (-5.38%) and expressive gain of woody and grassy vegetation (+4.5%) to the detriment of urban areas (-3.17%). The mangrove area doesn’t present modification. It observed the necessity of database actualization of Rio de Janeiro city hall with about land-use and occupation mapping to possibility to avaliate future environmental scenarios for the mangrove ecosystem.
