Abstract

The Brazilian metropolitan regions usually are characterized by suburb and centre, where the quality services offer is concentrated. The objective of this study is to diagnose the reality of the leisure equipments in the small cities of Monte Mor and Nova Odessa, from Campinas Metropolitan Region, chosen by representativeness and accessibility criteria, aiming to provide subsidies for the leisure public policies development. It uses the combination of bibliographical, documental and field research. The legislation in both cities guarantees legal instruments to the consortium formation among the cities, but this articulation is still too limited. The documental analysis reveals the absence of personnel formation policy, that enables an animation structure. In the field research, we have verified that some equipments are damaged and in abandonment state. Investments in the maintenance could generate affectionate links between the public and the equipments, increasing the respect for these leisure spaces.

Possui graduação em Turismo pela Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (2005) e é mestre em Educação Física-Corporeidade e Lazer pela mesma instituição (2008). É membro do Grupo de Pesquisa em Lazer (GPL/UNIMEP). Atualmente é docente da FAM-Faculdade de Americana-SP e do Centro Regional Universitário de Espírito Santo do Pinhal-SP - Unipinhal. Tem experiência na área de Lazer, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: lazer, espaços e equipamentos, políticas públicas, projetos de lazer e turismo e metodologia da pesquisa. Possui graduação em Ciências Sociais pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (1972), mestrado em Filosofia pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (1984) doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1988), e Livre docência, em Estudos do Lazer- Educação Física, pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1966). Atualmente é professor da Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba. Tem experiência na área de Estudos do Lazer (Educação Física, Educação, Turismo e outras), atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: lazer, educação, turismo, educação física, politicas publicas, esporte e recreação. É líder do Grupo de Pesquisas em Lazer- GPL. É Coordenador do Núcleo da Rede CEDES- Centro de Desenvolvimento do Esporte Recreativo e do Lazer, do Ministério do Esporte, no IEP-UNIMEP.
