The objective of this study was to investigate basic emotional manifestations (fear, joy, anger, disgust, sadness and surprise) from 25 children, 7 to 10 years old, when playing throwing games. It was used the Facial Action Coding System, suggested by Ekman and Friesen (1978), and it was included an context evaluation. It was identified 117 emotional expressions, the majority was expression of joy, when the children played together, used some material or feet the goal. Expression of sadness, anger and fear happened when they had difficult to perform motor skills, or when they had disagreements and aggressiveness. Emotional expression performed during the games showed that this environment was favorable to emotional development and was linked with motor actions but negative situations may happen and the adult intervention may be needed.Downloads
