Abstract

In the face of environmental changes as a result of anthropic practices, it is necessary to develop new mentalities that seek ways to reduce human pressures on environmental degradation. The article aims to present paths taken in research work in non formal Environmental Education. For that a survey was carried out of the main concepts and methods used in the articles presented in the oral communication of the Research Discussion Group (GDP) in non school contexts at the10th Encontro de Pesquisa em Educação Ambiental (EPEA), in 2019. Of the articles evaluated, three categories of concepts were recognized: belonging, society-nature relationship and the concept of environmental education; and two categories of method: eight articles worked on the research with training activities, and ten sought to understand the context and opinions of the participants. Such paths signal a posture of respect for the plurality of knowledge and manifestations, compatible with the plurality of the world, in the pursuit of achieving a dialogical, accessible, democratic, diverse, citizen, political and critical environmental education.
